Standing as a landmark in the heart of Tartu thanks to its contemporary architecture and bold choice of materials, the University of Tartu Delta Centre houses the Institute of Computer Science, the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, and the School of Economics and Business Administration. Completed in 2020 based on the winning architectural competition entry “Iconicum” by Arhitekt 11, the triangular-plan building also accommodates the university’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation as well as private companies. By bringing together diverse university units and businesses, the center aims to boost the Estonian economy through collaboration. In addition to a versatile interior designed to foster learning and innovation, the surrounding landscape plays a key role: the outdoor space around the Delta Centre was created to harmonize with the Emajõgi River and the adjacent park.
